The Surtee Soonnee Mussulman Society is a non-profit organization, established in 1897 by a group of visionaries and philanthropists from Surat, more particularly from the region between Tapti and Narmada rivers, for the purpose of providing assistance to immigrants landing in Mauritius from Surat.
